CGE is a girls capacity building learning hub and supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of programming across northern Nigeria and southern Niger. Our way of scaling-up is to share the funding we receive with partner CSOs and provide training and mentoring as they adapt the safe space methodology to their settings and the segment of girls they serve. We offer hands-on workshops on a range of topics with our programming serving as the classroom for the training. Discussions and presentations are integrated with visits to safe spaces and conversations with the girls, their parents, mentors, and community leaders. Last year, for example, we organized week-long safe space orientation workshops for 5 delegations from countries across the Sahel who are developing girls safe spaces as part of the Sahel Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend Project (SWEDD).
