History

The Centre for Girls Education began in 2007 as a joint program of OASIS, University of California, Berkeley, and Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. In 2016, the Centre became an independent woman led and staffed non-profit organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
